Help Build A Sustainable Future At The 2022 Waterfront Conference

"New York City's waterways are special places for city residents, playing a crucial role in city life, and with the threats of climate change, it is important for those in the region to become more aware of the issues facing the city's waterfront," says a press release for this year's Waterfront Conference, set for May 24 in Manhattan.

The conference, organized by the Waterfront Alliance, will focus on "how to sustain a healthy maritime industry, open-space environment, and regional economy," and will look at "how to achieve equitable access to the region's waterfronts and shared waterways," per the press release.

One panel will look at "Reclaiming Waterfronts for Recreation," which will feature "leaders in design and community development who envision active places of nature, recreation, and play along waterfronts," the press release notes.

Mashable reports the conference will also feature a talk by Christian Braneon of the Earth Institute on "Climate Grief and Climate Anxiety."
