India and Sweden are teaming up to tackle one of the world's biggest environmental challenges: climate change.
The two countries have pledged to work together to reduce carbon emissions and promote green growth, reports the Wall Street Journal.
The plan was announced at an event in New Delhi called India-Sweden Innovation Day 2024.
The goal is to set a roadmap for climate action ahead of a UN summit in Paris later this year, notes a release from the Sweden-India Business Council.
India is the world's third-largest emitter of carbon dioxide, after the US and China, and its goal is to keep the global average temperature from rising 3.6 degrees over pre-industrial levels.
