The UN's annual Green Technology Book is out, and it's packed with more than 200 "cutting-edge technologies" designed to help people around the world deal with the effects of climate change, USA Today reports.
"Extreme flooding, droughts, and heatwaves are leaving no one unaffected, and are fast becoming the 'new normal,'" the book states.
"Many innovative new solutions offer optimism, demonstrating our ability to adapt to, and mitigate, the worst effects of climate change, and transition to a low-carbon future."
Among the technologies in the book, which is out in late 2022, per a press release: desalination: A process that turns seawater into drinking water by injecting it into underground aquifers.
"In other areas, scarce or polluted water sources are scarce or polluted," the book states.
"Using methods that are less energy intensive than conventional desalinization techniques, communities can make the best use of this precious resource, even turning seawater into drinking water."
Climate change: The book focuses on three areas: agriculture, forestry, and water.
