"We can't undo the years of air pollution that have impacted generations of kids with asthma and left our planet warming.

We can't undo the years of water pollution that have degraded rivers and increased health risks, particularly in impacted communities.

But we must and do govern with a deep and abiding belief that we cannot leave our kids and grandkids to fate."

That's what the New Jersey Governor said in his State of the State address Monday, per the Star-Ledger, outlining his administration's efforts to combat climate change.

"This is an administration that has taken the view that it is more important to do things that will better protect our communities from worsening climate impacts while building opportunity for all in our burgeoning clean energy economy, leaving the next generation of New Jerseyans better than the past one left us," Christie said, noting the state is aiming for a 100% clean energy economy by 2050 and is " leaning into offshore wind with one of the nation's most-ambitious programs."

The governor also noted New Jersey is "more resilient, more just, and smarter than ever" but that "perhaps none is as existential than the challenge we face from climate change," noting the state is being hit by "more and more severe rain events and oftentimes devastating flooding Read the Entire Article
