"We are passionate about creating a space where children of all ages and learning types can explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a fun and engaging way," Melanie Galaviz says in a press release for Spark Labs, a new children's science, technology, engineering, art, and math center in Southlake, Texas.

The 42,000-square-foot center, which opened last week, offers a wide range of programs for kids of all ages, from robotics and coding to real-world engineering challenges and problem-solving, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

"Through a diverse range of programs, children will, according to the news release, have the opportunity to:Build robots and explore coding concepts science experimentsDesign and create with innovative technologiesSolve real-world engineering challengesDevelop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills," the press release says.

Galaviz, a stay-at-home mom of two, says she came up with the idea for Spark Labs after seeing kids in other states doing the same.

"I thought, 'Why not?'" she tells the Star-Telegram.

"It's a place where they can be inspired and have fun."
