Florida A&M University architecture student Christin Williams is one of two students to receive a $5,000 scholarship from the National Institute of Building Sciences, which aims to promote diversity in the building sciences, per a release.
Williams, who is black, is one of two recipients of the Betty and Mort Marshall Memorial Scholarship, which was established in 2020 in memory of the first members of the NIBS, who were black architects and engineers.
The scholarship, which is open to any student pursuing a career in architecture or engineering at a historically black college or university, was started in 2020 in memory of the Marshalls.
