"The technologies serving Controlled Environment Agriculture have advanced at an exhilarating pace over the past decade," Rob Eddy, resource efficiency Horticulturist at the Resource Innovation Institute, says in a press release.
"One of the biggest challenges for growers and their facility design partners has been understanding how to integrate all of these innovations to achieve optimal efficiency."
That's why the RIIa not-for-profit, public-private partnership that advances climate resilienceis out with a guide on how to do just that.
It's called the Controls and Automation Best Practices Guide for Environment Controlled Agriculture Operations.
The 28-member working group that created it was made up of agricultural experts from around the world, and the guide lays out best practices for everything from lighting to HVAC to water treatment.
"In order to optimize the impact from the available technology, it is essential to manage everything under one system as opposed to having separate controls for lighting, HVAC, and other CEA components," Eddy says in the press release.
The guide is free and can be downloaded here. Read the Entire Article
