If you're an American working in China, your chances of making it to No.
1 in the world may be significantly better than your chances of making it to No.
2, according to new research out of the University of Michigan.
The study found that companies in China with the most digital capabilities are the most likely to be in the No.
1 spot on a global competitiveness index, while those with the least digital capabilities are the least likely to be in the No.
2 spot, according to a press release.
"To the best of our knowledge, there has been no multi-regional discussion on how an enterprise employs digital technologies, to develop BMI that helps to create and appropriate more value for the enterprise," the researchers say.
"To bridge this research gap, our study focuses on dynamic perspectives on digital development."
The researchers found that companies with the most digital capabilities were the most likely to be in the No.
1 spot on the Digital Transformation Index, while those with the least digital capabilities were the least likely to be in the No.
2 spot.
They also found that companies with the most digital capabilities were the most likely to be in the No.
