According to the White House, Trump's budget would boost funding for climate programs by nearly $27 billion, including $1 billion for the EPA's Office of Air and Radiation, $1.5 billion for the Department of Energy's clean energy research, and $8.2 billion for the Department of Energy to "address legacy waste and contamination in communities."
The White House says Trump's budget would help the US hit its goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
