When it comes to giving back to the communities in which it does business, the Liberty Foundation is no stranger to putting its money where its mouth is.
In the US Virgin Islands, for instance, it recently donated $60,000 to six local nonprofits through its 26th annual Golf Invitational Tournament, the New York Daily News reports.
"With this donation, Liberty Foundation is giving the USVI a brighter future by empowering these six amazing non-profits to do their work every day," says a rep for the foundation.
Among the recipients: The Children's Museum of St.
Croix, Family Resource Center on St.
Thomas, Friends of the Virgin Islands National Parks, Virgin Islands Surfing Federation on St.
Thomas, Women's Coalition of St.
Croix, and Y-TEENS VI.
"Through the grants that Liberty Foundation gives, our partners are able to provide essential programs under our four pillars: education, social wellbeing and health, arts and culture, and environmental protection," says Yadira Valdivia, the foundation's executive director.
