Climate change is already taking a heavy toll on public health around the world, and the Trump administration wants to make sure that doesn't get any worse, the New York Times reports.

According to a State Department press release, the administration has set a three-year goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 17% from 2005 levels by 2030, and it wants to make sure that health care is as prepared as possible for the effects of climate change.

Specifically, the State Department wants to make sure that health care is as resilient as possible to the effects of climate change, such as droughts, wildfires, and disease outbreaks.

The department also wants to make sure that food crops are as resilient as possible to the effects of climate change, and it wants to make sure that water systems are as resilient as possible to flooding, droughts, and other problems caused by climate change.

The State Department's goal is to make sure that the 170,000 community health workers who deliver HIV/AIDS care around the world are as prepared as possible for the effects of climate change.
