The US plans to announce a global plan today to commercialize nuclear fusion as a substitute for fossil fuels, the New York Times reports.
John Kerry says that after a recent breakthrough in fusion research, "the nascent technology that offers unlimited energy can be 'an emerging climate solution,'" and it's time for the world to get behind it.
If other nations sign on, it would add to an agreement at the G20 meeting of major economies in September to triple their renewable energy capacity.
