The next UN climate change summit will be held in the United Arab Emirates in November, and the country is making the most of that opportunity to get young people involved in the process.
The UAE is hosting the 28th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, or COP 28, and it's hosting an event called "Road to COP28" on March 15, which is designed "to enhance youth participation within the UN climate process and amplify the efforts of organizations in the global climate community," the country's minister of foreign affairs says, per the National.
The event will feature interactive workshops for kids between the ages of 7 and 15, as well as debates and performances, the BBC reports.
"As the host country of COP28, the UAE is dedicating significant resources at all levels of government to lead a transparent, innovative, and inclusive climate process that brings together key stakeholders and communitiesparticularly youthto collectively drive a solutions-oriented COP28 agenda," the minister says.
