Definition and Characteristics of Climate-Adaptive Cities: a Systematic Review

How do cities fare in the face of climate change? According to a study published in the journal BMC Public Health, they can either be "resilient" or "resilient"with "resilient" cities becoming more and more important as the planet continues to warm.

The study looked at more than 6,100 cities around the world and identified 20 definitions and 55 features of "climate-adaptive cities," according to a press release.

Those features included a city's ability to adapt to climate change, as well as its ability to manage its resources, its economy, and its people.

The top 10 "resilient" cities, according to the study: Shanghai, China Los Angeles, Calif.

New York City Bogota, Colombia Stockholm, Sweden San Francisco, Calif.

Honolulu, Hawaii Seattle, Wash.

Researchers say cities that are "resilient" and "resilient" are better able to deal with climate change than cities that are "resilient" and "resilient."

The top 10 "resilient" cities, according to the study, are Copenhagen, Denmark; Austin, Texas; Los Angeles, Calif.; Miami, Fla.; New York City; San Francisco; Seattle; and Melbourne, Australia. Read the Entire Article
